Start of a New Season

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for the club. Teammates who have been out of town over the summer are reunited and new recruits are welcomed into the club, all with high hopes of an exciting and successful season. The fall is a time of learning and building, developing as players and creating friendships that will last for years. If you're interested we welcome you to join us and start off the fall semester with the following events:

New Player Meeting Friday, Aug 27th 5:00-6:00PM
This will take place in the Tubac Room on the 4th floor of the Student Union. Information will be given about what to expect from a season with Sunburn, and returning players will be available to talk with and answer questions. We suggest you attend if possible, but if you can't make it that's OK.

First Practice Monday, Aug 30th 4:30-6:30PM
This will be at Bear Down Field, found just north of the football stadium on campus. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. If you like the idea of ultimate, there's a place for you with the club.

More schedule and contact info can be found in the menu at the top of the page.

Santa Barbara Invite

MVP of the Country

2008 Callahan winner. During his last year of elligibility, at Sunburn's first trip to the National Championship tournament, Joe Kershner of the University of Arizona won the most prestigious Ultimate award. The team would not have come nearly as far as it has without his leadership, and has recently shown his love for Ultimate by coaching the B-team.

The Callahan Award has been established to recognize the most valuable players in college ultimate. Each year the Callahan trophy is presented to the man and woman who combine superior athleticism with outstanding sportsmanship, leadership and dedication to the sport of ultimate. In the eyes of his or her peers, the Callahan winner is the personification of the ideal ultimate player.

Media

We've got tons of videos and pictures of tournaments from the past several years available for viewing. Some of it comes from ultivillage, but most of it was taken by the very appreciated Palmers.
